Daily Algorithmic ETF Trading Signals

Súgradh provides daily and weekly ETF trading signals generated entirely by algorithms — no discretionary trades, no opinions. Strategies use wavelet analysis and momentum indicators to time entries and exits across a curated set of ETFs. All portfolios are long-only and compatible with IRA, cash, and margin accounts. Signals land in your inbox before market open.

How Our Wavelet & Momentum Algorithms Work

Trades are long only keeping things simple and tradeable in IRA, cash or margin accounts.

Súgradh’s wavelet-based approach transpose price data into frequency bands at different time scales, generating signals when energy crosses thresholds in specific bands. Wavelets excel with financial time series because markets exhibit structure simultaneously at multiple scales: intraday volatility, daily momentum shifts, weekly reversals, and monthly directional trends.

The Sectors portfolio weights various sectors of the economy.

The Stories portfolio selects interesting momentum areas with sustained advances.

The Plays portfolio uses leveraged bets on selected ETFs with strong momentum.

The Sleep Well portfolio uses a momentum type indicator for selection with minimum variance allocation to generate weekly trading positions and is intended to be traded at the open on the first trading day of the week.

The Insomniac portfolio is simply the same as Sleep Well but using some leveraged ETFs.

The use of leveraged and un-leveraged ETFs are targeted for being cost-effective, highly liquid, and easily accessible across most brokerage platforms. All positions and adjustments are taken at the open.

What Subscribers Receive Before Each Session

While the above portfolio’s signals are available on this site, subscribers get access to these portfolios and some 8 more.

Prior to the daily trading session, subscribers get an email detailing the allocation the portfolios will transition to at the next open.

Sectors, Stories and Plays portfolios emit daily signals, while SleepWell and Insomniac trade weekly although stops are sometimes issued. The other subscriber portfolios are similar in this regard too.

Methodology & Disclosures

Performance figures reflect live signals since April 2022. All trades are assumed to execute at the next market open following signal generation; no slippage or brokerage commissions are deducted from returns. Per-portfolio peak drawdown and full trade histories are available on each strategy page. Where backtested returns appear alongside live results they use the same algorithm applied to historical data and are provided for context only. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Portfolios

The varied portfolios here serve as a means of organizing and managing diverse allocations. By assigning a specific financial sum to a portfolio, the expectation is that the collective underlying strategies within the portfolio will demonstrate enhanced effectiveness in mitigating risk and limiting drawdowns\

The SleepWell portfolio represents a hybrid strategy that merges momentum selection with minimum variance allocation.

A prudent approach would commence with the SleepWell portfolio, as it offers a favorable return with minimal risk. Subsequently, a portion of the funds can be allocated to the Insomniac and Playground portfolios as deemed appropriate.

Strategies playing to make money

Description

This portfolio employs a strategic approach to buying and selling positions in an attempt to outperform a simple buy-and-hold strategy. It presents a viable alternative and complement to long-term position investors, offering favorable exposure characteristics.

The portfolio does not allocate its entire allocation to the market at all times but selectively acquires and sells positions on a daily basis. At times, only one or two positions may be held, but this can rapidly increase if favorable market conditions arise.

Subsequently, this strategy incorporates a small collection of four complementary strategies for acquiring index-related equities and selecting leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
